May 2 –16, 2009Donizetti’s most famous and celebrated work, Lucia di Lammermoor is set in 17th century Scotland, and is based on Sir Walter Scott’s novel, “The Bride of Lammermoor,” The opera features a famous "tour-de-force" mad scene for the soprano.
